Ride manufacturer Dynamic Entertainment is exercising its option to acquire a 50 per cent ownership of SkyFly: Soar America, the amusement park ride.

The purchase price is just below US$4m for the flying theatre development company that celebrated last month when its flying theatre at Pigeon Force in Tennessee, US, was voted the country’s best new attraction in a special poll in USA Today.

The acquisition and notification of the award arrived on the same day, as pointed out by Dynamic CEO Guy Nelson.

“The acquisition and the development of the attraction are the culmination of months of hard work by the company, its partner and its suppliers,” he said. “The company made a strategic decision to pivot towards leveraging its attraction intellectual property through ownership.”

SkyFly: Soar America opened in July of last year. It is an attraction that takes riders on an adventure in a 1900s airship to see the natural wonders of the US.

Dynamic built the ride itself and Adirondack Studios designed the theme.
