Dynamic Technologies Group, a leader in design engineering, production and commissioning of media-based attractions and ride systems for the global attractions industry, has announced that its subsidiary, Dynamic Entertainment Group Ltd. is exercising its option to acquire a 50% ownership interest in SkyFly: Soar America for a purchase price of $3,995,822.

Last month, the new flying theatre ride in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, was also named as the country’s best new attraction by USA Today in its Readers’ Choice Award, nominated by travel experts and then voted for by readers through an online poll.

“I am absolutely ecstatic to announce that Dynamic gave its formal notice to exercise its option to buy and own 50% of SkyFly: Soar America on the very same day that we were informed by USA Today Readers’ Choice Award that this attraction won the very prestigious honor of being selected as the ‘Best New Attraction’ in America,” says Guy Nelson, CEO of Dynamic.

“It is serendipitous that both have happened on the same day. The acquisition and the development of the attraction are the culmination of months of hard work by the Company, its partner and its suppliers. The Company made a strategic decision to pivot towards leveraging its attraction intellectual property through ownership. Together this acquisition and award establish as fact that the strategy is not only alive, but being extremely well received.”

SkyFly: Soar America opened to the public in July 2021. The fully themed attraction allows guests to go on an adventure as they board a turn-of-the-century ‘air ship’ for a tour of America’s greatest natural wonders. The flight simulation ride was built by Dynamic Attractions,  a leading creator of cutting-edge theme park rides.

“SkyFly: Soar America is one of the most entertaining and exhilarating attractions anywhere. Guests love it because it is funny and breath-taking, providing them a unique opportunity to experience an immersive explosion of sensations,” says Nelson. “It is one of Dynamic’s finest achievements, which is fitting for our first co-venture. Guests need to do whatever they can to ride it at The Island in Pigeon Forge.”

A strong team

Adirondack Studios, a company that provides creative solutions for designers, artists, producers, and owners across the themed entertainment industry, was the theme design fabricator for SkyFly: Soar America.

“Adirondack Studios is proud to have shared in the development of the Sky Fly Soar America alongside many talented collaborators,” says Seth Harkins, vice president of creative design. “We thank our friends at Dynamic for inviting us to join them on this voyage.

“Our partnership on this steam-powered invention goes back years, beginning with the idea of an airship transporting guests across North America, transforming into an immersive steampunk adventure and culminating in the realization of this breathtaking attraction. To build a high-flying ride truly takes a team and we were ecstatic to be part of a terrific one.

“We share the excitement of all our friends who worked on the project and we look forward to seeing The Island in Pigeon Forge soar to new heights!”

Future co-ventures

“Dynamic Entertainment’s focus is to create more co-venture attractions,” says Nelson. “The recognition that our first has been receiving tells other potential destinations that partnering with Dynamic is a winning decision.

“The Island in Pigeon Forge is a sensational location, bustling with families eager for themed entertainment. We couldn’t ask for a better site for Dynamic Entertainment’s first co-owned attraction. We are currently in discussions with other destinations for future co-ventures.”
