Dynamic Attractions applauds Universal Beijing Resort on Grand Opening

$6.5 billion theme park is Universal’s largest

TORONTO, ON (September 20, 2021) — Today, just beyond its iconic rotating globe, Universal Beijing Resort will officially open its first theme park in China.

“Congratulations to Universal Parks & Resorts, Universal Creative, and its partner in China that have brought this ambitious park to life,” energetically states Guy Nelson, CEO of Dynamic Attractions. “From cast members to show producers and from planners to suppliers, everyone involved deserves our industry’s applause for this tremendous achievement.”

First conceived seven years ago, the $6.5 billion park is 4 square kilometers, making it by far the largest Universal Theme Park. It has seven themed lands, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It also includes a CityWalk shopping district and the first-ever Universal-themed resort hotel. The coronavirus pandemic halted many of the attractions industry’s projects, but construction of Universal Beijing Resort steadily continued.

Pre-sale tickets for the park’s first day sold out in less than :30 minutes. A few hours later, tickets for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays were sold out as well. All indicators are that demand for themed entertainment is exceptionally high around the world, including in Beijing.

“Universal Studios’ attractions are exceptional,” adds Nelson. “They take our favorite movies and let us, as guests, ‘ride’ them. Dynamic’s installation team had a behind-the-scenes look at the park for months. They’re amazed and state that Universal’s attention to theme details and use of cutting-edge technologies in the world’s newest will create unforgettable experiences for everyone.”

Dynamic’s relationship with the company goes back to 1999 when Universal expanded Universal Studios Escape into Universal Orlando Resort, becoming the company’s first full theme park. Universal Orlando Resort was a game changer for the company and, indeed, the global theme park industry. The new resort ushered in the modern era of cutting-edge, immersive, multi-media attractions.
